Replacing type A electrical lifter column

Removing lifting column
1. Remove rear battery compartment shroud. See 6.8.1
Replacing rear shroud, page 38.
2. Remove center battery compartment shroud. See 6.8.2
Replacing center shroud, page 38.
3. Remove front battery compartment shroud. See 6.8.3
Replacing front shroud, page 39.
4. Remove seat. See "Replacing seat support with manual
tilt module (till Dec. 2010)" or "Replacing seat support
with electric tilt module".
5. Disconnect cable of lifter column from actuator module
on battery box.
6. Open cable clamps and expose cable.

Place mobility device on its side and safeguard it against
overturning. Use proper lifting techniques.

8. Loosen and remove four screws (3) on underside of
chassis (2).
9. Remove lifting column (1).
Installing lifting column
1. Install parts in reverse order.
2. Check all mobility device functions.
Replacing type B electrical lifter column

caused by uncontrolled movement of mobility
device.
– Switch off power supply (ON/OFF key).
– Engage drive.
– Position mobility device on it's side and secure
position so it does not turn over.

T40 torx wrench

Torque wrench 5 – 30 Nm (or similar)
Removing lifting column
1. Remove rear battery compartment shroud. See 6.8.1
Replacing rear shroud, page 38.
2. Remove center battery compartment shroud. See 6.8.2
Replacing center shroud, page 38.
3. Open cable clamps on battery box and expose cables.
4. Disconnect cables on actuator module on battery box
and, if necessary, on lighting circuit board.
5. Disconnect plug at top of lifter column.
6. Remove seat: "Replacing seat support with manual tilt
module (till Dec. 2010)", "Replacing seat frame with
manual tilt module (from Dec. 2010)" and "Replacing
seat support with electric tilt module" .
7. Place mobility device on its side and safeguard it against
overturning. Use proper lifting techniques.
