Door Strike Wiring using an External Relay
An external relay may be used to control a door strike. This external relay is controlled by the reader LED
output on the LNL-1380-8RP. The external relay can be wired for AC or DC current.
If the LED in the reader is driven by the Reader LED signal, TB1-4 or TB3-4, a blocking diode must be
added to the circuit. This blocking diode should be a Schottky barrier rectifier, type 1N5817 or equivalent
(20 volt @ 1 A).

The external relay's coil current must be restricted to 40 mA.

The 5 volt relay coil resistance must be 125 or greater ohms.
