Before attempting a lola]
disassembly
of
the
gear
box,
first take

its basic
units,

Removal
of
the Cover
To remove
t
he
cover,
proceed
as
follows:

drive
out
the
bolt,
using
a
soft
metal

ndrel
for

he
purpose,
and
remove the kick

holding

ont
bushing
of
the
starti
n
g
mechanism
shaft
by
mea

half-turn clockwise, take
out
the
bushing
together
with the
rub
ber
ring
from
the
boss
in
the
front wall of
the
cas

unscrew
nine bolts

ing.

e
the
cover,
detach
the
paperboard gasket.
When
remov.in

the
cove r,
the
secondary
shaft
must be kept in
place in the
cas
in
g
in
order
lo
avoid
damage to
the
gearshift
forks
.
As rega rds
th
e
type
of their
fit
,
the
bea rings of
the rear
s
u-pport
s
of
t he
primary
and
seconda
ry sh
afts,
in most
cases,
are found
to be
removed from
the
sh
a fts,
togeth er
with
-Lh
e cover.
Removal and Installation of the Shafts and Gears
The
shaft

removed in the following
order:

take out the starting
mechan ism
shaft together with

quad-
rant,
bushing,
spring and

thrust
washers

om
the
intermediate shaft, extract the fork
shaft
from the opening
in
th
e
casing,
wi.

shaft with
its
forks
from the
slots
of the

remove
the
primary
shaft

tapping th
