FILE NOT OPEN (code CB) - the logical unit
being accessed is not active.
No action is
taken.
END OF FILE (code C9) - the last record of the
file was read and the given length had not
yet been fulfilled.
The length returned
reflects the number of bytes actually read.
POINTER ERROR (code CA) - a pointer mismatch
occurred.
The reading stops at the point it
is detected.
The length returned will include
the record which had the error.
