Manual Test Mode Operation-PDL 2-Line Phone
This document describes the steps for manual test mode entry and operation for both hanset and bese unit of the 2-line PDL phone.
Handset Test Mode Entry
To enter manual test mode on the hanset, follow these steps ;

Handset Test Mode Operation
General
For all available active keys, backlight will illuminate when that key is pressed.
Any key that does not perform a function in test mode is ignored with no
subsequent key beep.
OFF key
Exit test mode immediately. A slightly longer than normal key beep will indi-
cate that this in occurring.
HOLD key
LCD segment test. When the key is pressed there is a key beep. All pixel seg-
ments of all the LCD alphanumeric display are enabled for as long as the key is
pressed.
CALLER ID key
Show handset software version code. When the key is pressed there is a key
beep. The four characters of the software version code of the form "MVVV" is
displayed for as long as the key is pressed.
M indicates the phone model = "d" for PDLD
VVV indicates the release version number = "210" for version 21.0 from build
21, monitor revision 0.
REDIAL key
Increment the channel number. When the key is pressed there is a key beep.
The channel number shown on the second line of the display is incremented by
one. When the channel number is at maximum and is incremented, the current
channel will wrap around to the minimum. The valid range of channels is zero
to nine inclusive.

TEST MODE

Action
From handset Idle, press the PGM key and
hold to enter program mode.
Press the six character key sequence :
** TEST
After each key press a "sad tone" will be
heard. The last sad tone for the last character
will be slightly longer than the others indi-
cating successful entry to test mode.
Note that if this exact key sequence is not
followed then you must start from Step 1
again. If the complete sequence is not entered
within 30 seconds, then test mode entry will
automatically be aborted. If the handset is
out of range of the base unit, the complete
sequence will have to be entered within the
10 second interval between channel scans.
