2. Install gas piping into fi replace location.
This installation includes an approved fl ex-
ible gas line (if allowed by local codes) after
the equipment shutoff valve. The fl exible
gas line must be the last item installed on
the gas piping. See Installing Gas Piping
to Fireplace Location, Page 14.
3. Carefully set fi replace in front of rough
opening with back of fi replace inside wall
opening.
4. Carefully insert fireplace into rough
opening.
5. Attach fl exible gas line to gas supply.
See Connecting Fireplace to Gas Supply,
Page 15.
6. Attach fi replace to wall studs using nails
or wood screws through holes in nailing
fl ange (see Figure 15).

7. Check all gas connections for leaks. See
Checking Gas Connections, Page 16.
8. Plug electrical cord into electrical outlet
installed in step 2.
9. Install trim after fi nal fi nishing and/or paint-
ing of wall (see Figure 7, Page 10).
IMPORTANT: When fi nishing your fi rebox,
combustible materials such as wall board,
gypsum board, sheet rock, drywall, plywood,
etc. may be butted up next to the sides and top
of the fi rebox. Combustible materials should
never overlap the fi rebox front facing.
WARNING: Do not allow any
combustible materials to overlap
the fi rebox front facing.
IMPORTANT: Noncombustible materials such
as brick, tile, etc. may overlap the front facing,
but should never cover any necessary open-
ings like louvered slots or screen assembly.
