3.1.9 SCSOA

Fig.3-1-14~19 show the typical SCSOA performance curves of each products.
The measurement condition is described as follows;
(1) for 1200V series, V
(2) for 600V series, V
Please refer Fig.3-1-17 for PSS25MC1FT(25A/1200V CIB type), for instance. It shows DIPIPM+ can safely shut
down an SC current which is about 10 times of its current rating under above conditions, when the IGBT shuts off
by 4.6μs at V
=16.5V. Since the SCSOA (Short Circuit Safety Operating Area) will vary with the control supply

voltage, DC-link voltage, and so on, it is necessary to set time constant of RC filter with a margin.
