Malfunction Decision Conditions
During operation of cooling and heating, when an input over-current (20.0A) is detected by checking the input
current value being detected by current transformer (CT) with the compressor running.
Malfunction Caused
Over-current due to compressor failure.
Over-current due to defective outdoor unit PCB.
Over-current due to defective inverter main circuit electrolytic capacitor.
Over-current due to excessive refrigerant.
Abnormality Judgment:
3 times happen within 20 minutes.
Troubleshooting
Get restarted and
measure the input
current.
Input current > 16.8A?
Yes
Turn off power supply.
Check the main circuit
electrolytic capacitor.
Normal?
Yes
Check refrigerant amount.
For safety reason and to prevent component
breakdown, always switch off the power before

remove and connect the component.

Replace the outdoor unit
PCB.
No
Replace the outdoor unit
PCB.
Excess refrigerant?
Keep the tester in the
resistance measuring range.
When the pointer swings,
it means the capacitor
functions.
Yes
Reclaim and recharge with
correct amount of refrigerant.
No
Replace outdoor unit PCB.

If the pointer does not swing at all,
or if it swings all the way but does
not return, it means the capacitor
malfunction.
