2+2 MODE (SIMULTANEOUS STIMULATION) The Globus Electrostimulator permits multiple treatments to be carried out at the same time. In particular, two different programs (EMS or TENS) can be run on different muscular groups of the same subject or on two different subjects. The first program runs on channels 1 and 2; the second program runs on channels 3 and 4.

  • Page 18: Intensity Of Stimulation

INTENSITY OF STIMULATION The current intensity necessary to obtain muscular contraction is personal and depends on the position of the electrodes, the underlying adipose tissue layer, sweating, the presence of hair on the area to be treated, etc. For these reasons, the same current intensity can generate dif- ferent feelings from person to person, from day to day, and from the right side to the left side of the body.

NOTES ON THE USE OF PROGRAMMES WITH MICRO-CURRENTS The Microcurrents programs differ from the standard EMS and TENS programs in the following manner: - While conventional electrostimulation (e.g. EMS and TENS) uses current in the milliampere- range, microcurrent electrostimulation uses currents in the microampere range that are imper- ceptible by humans.

If the charged particles are filled with medicinal substances, then the continuous current promotes the penetration of these substances into tissues.

Currents for partially or totally denervated muscles The stimulation of a denervated muscle differs from stimulation of a healthy one because the activation of muscular fibers needs particular currents. In presence of a traumatic lesion to the peripheral nerves, measurement of the chronaxie allows one to determine if the denervation is partial or total.
