Step 2: Ensuring you have the necessary information for starting up the unit

To ensure you have all the information required for configuring the individual components,
you need to allocate all Private Mailboxes and/or the Global Mailbox in this step. Simply
replace the Voicemail Center 461.2 Access Codes, extensions, and telephone numbers used
in the examples with your own data.
Access code: There are 5 different Access Codes. Each code has up to 4 digits. It provides
secure access to the Private Mailboxes and/or the Global Mailbox. You will also need it at a
later point of the startup procedure. Access codes are required for authentication during
remote access (they are comparable to a PIN number for a credit card).
Extension: This is the internal number for a subscriber of the PBX system, for whom you
wish to set up a Private Mailbox. This internal number (e.g. 41) is not the same as a number
for the PBX system's external line (e.g. 05306 - 92000).
Internal number of Voicemail Center 461.2: The Voicemail Center is connected to an ana-
log port of your PBX system. If this port does not yet have an internal number, you have to
allocate it a number. To allow Voicemail Center 461.2 to record ICMs to a Private Mailbox,
they have to be forwarded (redirected) to this number.
External number of Voicemail Center 461.2: This number is required for the Global Mail-
box. It is configured via the PBX system's call distribution function (multiple external numbers
are possible). All ICMs for this number are recorded by the Global Mailbox.
