Before each use inspect the random
orbit sander, the ON/OFF switch, and the
cord for damage. Check for damaged,
missing, or worn parts. Check for loose
screws, misalignment
moving parts, or any other condition that
may affect the operation. If abnormal
vibration or noise occurs, turn the tool
off immediately, and have the problem
corrected before further use.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by a specially prepared cord
available through the service organization.

1. Unplug the sander.
2. Loosen the 4 screws on the base pad
with a Philips screwdriver (available sep-
arately). Remove the base pad from the
sander (Fig. 6).
3. Remove the bearing cover from the base
pad.
4. Clean and empty the dust that has
accumulated in the sander with a brush
or compressed air.

5. Press the bearing cover down onto the
new base pad. Make sure that the 4
holes on the bearing cover are aligned
with the 4 mounting holes on the base
pad.
6. Place the sander upside-down and
attach the new base pad to the sander.
