2-2-1. Gain Adjustment

2-2. Upgraded BVP-500/500P with BKP-
5090
Perform "2-2-1. Gain Adjustment" only when the serial
numbers are as follows.
OHB-405WS (UC) S/N 10001 to 10050
OHB-405WSP (CE) S/N 40001 to 40050
OHB-500WS (UC) S/N 11001 to 11010
OHB-500WSP (CE) S/N 41001 to 41050
2-2-1. Gain Adjustment
Equipment : Waveform/Vector Monitor, Oscilloscope
Object
: Grayscale chart
Note:
. For the gain adjustment, using an reflective grayscale
chart is preferable.
Before adjustment, set the illumination of the light
source (or the luminous intensity on the chart surface)
and color temperature properly. For more details, refer to
Section "1-5. Maintaining the Grayscale Chart".
Preparations:
. Filter selection → 1B
. Initialize the adjusting data
(1) Press AUTO SETUP/LEVEL button on the MSU,
and perform the auto level adjustment.
(2) TEST 2 button → ON (light up)
(3) Press AUTO SETUP/LEVEL button on the MSU,
and perform the auto white balance adjustment.
(4) TEST 2 button/MSU operation panel → OFF (go off)
. MASTER GAIN button/MSU operation panel → 0 dB
. KNEE OFF button/MSU operation panel → OFF (light up)
. GAMMA OFF button/MSU operation panel →
. Lens iris → CLOSE
. Connect the waveform/vector monitor to MONITOR
connector.

Adjustment Procedures:
1. S650 (MONITOR OUT)/IF-538 panel → VBS
2. Press AUTO SETUP/BLACK button, and perform the
auto black balance adjustment.
3. Adjust the black balance.
Test Point
Adjustment Point:
MASTER BLACK control/MSU operation panel
Specification : A = 5 IRE
4. Open the right panel and extend the VA-163 board
with the EX-464 board.
5. IRIS control/MSU operation panel → F9
6. Shoot the grayscale chart, and adjust so that it meets
the underscanned monitor frame.
7. Connect an oscilloscope to the following test points on
the VA-163 board.
Open the right panel and perform adjustment with
controls on the PA-181/213 board.
