INSTALLATION

Note
When connecting the BMW i Wallbox in Mexico, the mains cable must be removed, and the
Wallbox must be connected directly to the power network as per section
i Wallbox
directly.

Prerequisites for installation

Comply with the installation guidelines.
The electrical connection (supply line) must be prepared.
Acclimatization:
If the temperature difference between transportation and installation location is greater than 59 °F,
then the Wallbox should be allowed to acclimatize for at least two hours without being opened.
Opening the Wallbox immediately can cause condensation on the inside, resulting in damage
when the device is switched on. Under some circumstances, it is possible that damage may arise
only at some point after the installation.
Ideally, the Wallbox should be left at the installation location for a few hours in advance. If this is
not possible, then the Wallbox should not be stored overnight in the open air or in a vehicle at low
temperatures (< 41 °F).
List of tools
The following tools are needed for the installation:
Cross-head screwdriver for supply terminals, blade width 5.5 mm
Cross-head screwdriver for terminals X1/X2, blade width 3.0 mm
