Note: If a cleaning cycle starts when ink is low and the level of ink remaining in the cartridge is estimated
to be less than required for a cleaning, the printer will tell you that there is not enough ink to complete the
process. You must insert a fuller cartridge to complete the cleaning. At the end of the cleaning, the
original cartridge can be re-inserted and used until it is expended.

Replacing Maintenance Tanks

The maintenance tank absorbs ink used in maintenance operations such as head cleaning and switching
between black ink types. Your product contains two separate maintenance tanks. Replace the specified
maintenance tank when you see a message on the LCD screen.
Note: Do not reuse maintenance tanks that you have removed from the product and exposed to air for a
long period of time. The box will not absorb any more ink.
Note: Do not replace a maintenance tank while printing. Colors may vary and print quality may decline
when printing is resumed.
