c) Barometric pressure

The weather station must be in normal mode.
• Push and hold the buttons "SET" and "ALARM" for approx. 5 seconds. CORRECT is displayed.
• The display for the absolute barometric pressure (ABS) flashes. Use the buttons "+" or "-" to correct the value. The
correction is made in steps of 0.1. Use the button "ALARM" to delete the correction again.
• Push the button "SET".
• The display for the relative barometric pressure (REL) flashes. Use the buttons "+" or "-" to correct the value. The cor-
rection is made in steps of 0.1. Use the button "ALARM" to delete the correction again.
• Push the buttons "SET" to save the input and leave the setting mode.
The reference value for the relative barometric pressure for your site can be taken from the internet.
The weather station can display the absolute or relative barometric pressure (sea level).
The absolute barometric pressure is the barometric pressure actually measured by the weather station. It de-
pends on the altitude of your place of residence.
The relative barometric pressure is converted to sea level to get comparable values. The data you will receive,
e.g., online, are always indicated like this.

22. Weather forecast

Observe:
• The display does not indicate the current weather situation, but a forecast for the next 24 to 48 hours.
• Calculation of weather forecasts only based on barometric pressure leads to a maximum accuracy of about 70%. The
actual weather on the next day may be completely different. Since the barometric pressure measured only applies for
an area with a diameter of approx. 50 km, the weather may also change quickly. This particularly applies in mountain or
high mountain areas.
Therefore, do not rely on the weather station's forecast but gather information on site, e.g. for mountain tours.
• At sudden or larger fluctuations of barometric pressure, the display symbols are updated to show weather changes.
If the display symbols do not change, either the barometric pressure did not change or the change was so slow that it
could not be registered by the weather station.
The display symbols indicate a weather change for the better or worse, which does not have to mean sun or rain, how-
ever, as indicated by the symbols.
• After first insertion of the batteries, disregard the weather forecasts for the first 24 to 48 hours, because to make a
more exact forecast the weather station has to collect barometric pressure data at a constant height in this period first.
Setting the current weather may reduce this period.
• If the weather station is taken to a site at a much higher or lower altitude than the original one (e.g. from the ground floor
to an upper floor of a house), the weather station may consider this a weather change.
• Generally, a rising barometric pressure suggests better weather to come. When the barometric pressure drops, the
weather will deteriorate.
