PUNCH PLATE
A sandpaper punch plate is provided with your sander to let you perforate regular sandpaper
to make dust collection possible. To perforate your sandpaper, install the sandpaper
as described above in section "Installing Sandpaper". With the sander turned off and
unplugged, place the punch plate on the sandpaper so that the tabs at the edges of the
punch are against any two adjacent sides of the sanding pad. Press the punch plate against
the pad so that the 8 points penetrate the sandpaper. (Press the punch into the pad as far
as it will go). Remove the punch plate and the sandpaper is ready.
SANDING
1. Choose the proper grit sanding paper. If preparing wood for painting, or if removing
paint, use a coarse grit sanding paper. Use a fine grit for finish work.
2. Secure the item to be sanded. Make certain that the sanding paper is firmly in place.
3. With the sander not in contact with the workpiece, press the switch to the "ON"
position.
4. Carefully move the sander to the workpiece and begin sanding.
Warning: Do not sand any area too heavily or for more than a few seconds at a time. Apply
even pressure in a random pattern over the entire surface.
5. To sand down profiles and grooves, use the point or edge of the plastic base.
6. Every few minutes, check the condition and wear of the sanding paper. Replace if
necessary.
Warning: Do not use torn or severly worn sanding paper. You may damage your work
surface or suffer physical injury.
7. When you are done sanding the desired area, remove the sander from the work surface
before turning OFF the sander!
