    GENERAL & SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 1. Know your tool Read and understand the instruction manual and labels affixed to the tool. Learn its  application and limitations as well as its specific potential hazards. 2. Don’t use power tools in damp or wet locations or expose them to rain. Keep work area  well lit and provide adequate surrounding work space. 3. Use right tool  Don’t force the tool or the attachment to do a job for which it was not designed. 4. Wear proper apparel  Do not wear loose clothing, gloves, neckties or jewelry (rings, watch) because they  could get caught in moving parts. Non-slip footwear is recommended. Wear protective  hair covering to contain long hair. Roll up long sleeves above the elbows. 5. Maintain tool with care  Keep tool clean for best and safest performance. Follow instructions for operation and  changing accessories. 6. Disconnect tools  Before servicing, when changing accessories or attachments. 7. Avoid accidental starting  Make sure the switch is in the ‘’OFF’’ position before plugging in.

    ELECTRICAL INFORMATION WARNING: The  warnings,  cautions,  and  instructions  discussed  in  this  instruction  manual  cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood  by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this  product, but must be supplied by the operator. Note:  Performance  of  this  tool  may  vary  depending  on  variations  in  local  line  voltage.  Extension cord usage may also affect tool performance. VOLTAGE WARNING Before connecting the tool to a power source (receptacle, outlet, etc.) be sure the voltage  supplied is the same as that specified on the nameplate of the tool. If one says 120V and  the other says 115V then there will be no complications. Never try to plug a 120V tool into a  240V outlet, or the other way around. A voltage greater than that specified on the tool can  result in serious injury to the user, as well as damage to the tool. If in doubt, do not plug in the tool.

    OPERATION TURNING THE SANDER ON AND OFF 1. To switch on the machine press the switch trigger (1). 2. To switch off the machine, release the switch trigger (1). 3. To  switch  the  machine  to  continuous  mode,  keep  the  switch  trigger  fully  pressed  and  simultaneously press the lock on button (2) and subsequently release the switch trigger. 4. To switch off continuous mode, release the switch trigger.  Warning: Never use the machine for sanding magnesium work piece.   INSTALLING SANDPAPER Your sander is designed to use 1/3 sheets of sandpaper. This size can be made by cutting a  full sized (9" x 11") sandpaper into 1/3 sheets of 8-3/8"  x 3-1/2" Install sandpaper to your sander as follows; 1. Soften the stiff edges of the sandpaper to be clamped (8-3/8" edge) by pulling it over the  90° edge of a table or other straight edge. 2. Release  front  clamp  lever  by  pushing  it  in  against  the  body,  lifting  it  up  slightly,  then  pulling it out slightly and finally lowering it to disengage it from the tab on the base plate.
  • Page 7 OPERATION PUNCH PLATE A sandpaper punch plate is provided with your sander to let you perforate regular sandpaper  to  make  dust  collection  possible.  To  perforate  your  sandpaper,  install  the  sandpaper  as  described  above  in  section  “Installing  Sandpaper”.  With  the  sander  turned  off  and  unplugged, place the punch plate on the sandpaper so that the tabs at the edges of the  punch are against any two adjacent sides of the sanding pad. Press the punch plate against  the pad so that the 8 points penetrate the sandpaper. (Press the punch into the pad as far  as it will go). Remove the punch plate and the sandpaper is ready. SANDING 1. Choose the proper grit sanding paper. If preparing wood for painting, or if removing  paint, use a coarse grit sanding paper. Use a fine grit for finish work. 2. Secure the item to be sanded. Make certain that the sanding paper is firmly in place. 3. With the sander not in contact with the workpiece, press the switch to the “ON”  position.
  • Page 8 OPERATION DUST EXTRACTION The dust extraction adapter together with an external vacuum cleaner takes care of the dust  extraction of the working surface. 1. Place the adapter (4) on the dust extraction connection (3). 2. Slide the hose of a domestic vacuum on the dust extraction adaptor (4). 3. When you finish the work, please take off the back adaptor and clean the dust extraction  connection. SANDING PAINT Sanding  of  lead  based  paint  is  NOT  RECOMMENDED  due  to  the  difficulty  of  controlling  the contaminated dust. The greatest danger of lead poisoning is to children and pregnant  women. Note:: Only dust masks suitable for working with lead paint dust and fumes should be used.  Ordinary  painting  masks  do  not  offer  this  protection.  Consult  your  local  hardware  dealer.  Warning!
