3) The AC that received the discovery request packet will check if the Fit AP has access to it, and
answer the request if the Fit AP is successfully verified.
4) Fit AP downloads the latest version of firmware from AC.
5) Fit AP downloads the latest configuration from AC.
6) Fit AP begins to work normally to exchange user data with AC.
Notes:
(1) While the AP's configuration file is modified, for instance, it joins a WLAN, AC will save the
modified configuration file locally and send it to the AP, while the configuration file will be deleted
after AC powers off.
(2) AC will delete the saved configuration file after resetting the AP to factory default settings
remotely.
(3) The configuration file will be saved on the AP too, that means, when AC powers off, the
configuration file will not lose.
(4) AP can start transmitting user data immediately after successfully obtaining the firmware and
configuration file.

5.1.3 Layer 2 Roaming

Mobility, or roaming, is a wireless client's ability to move from one AP's coverage area to that of
another without interruption in service or loss in connectivity.
AP supports layer 2 roaming, which allows wireless clients to roam across APs on the same
subnet and VLAN. To implement layer 2 roaming, you need to assign the same WLAN parameters
to the APs, so that they have the same SSID, and are on the same subnet and the same VLAN.
The following figure shows intra-controller layer 2 roaming, which occurs when the coverage of the
two APs overlap.
