Eaton/Dana Axle Lubrication

The original mineral-based
lubricant must be drained within
3000-5000 miles (4800-8000
km) on all Eaton axles. This
initial change is very important
because it flushes out break-in
contaminants that might otherwise
cause premature wear.
No initial drain is required on
Eaton axles that are factory filled
with an Eaton-approved synthetic
lubricant.
Mineral-based lubes must be
drained within the first 5000 miles
(8000 km) if converting to an
Eaton-approved synthetic lube.
