Introduction This manual will specifically cover setup with the Crown CDi am- plifier that our Origin Landscape speakers are designed to work with. For more detailed information about the Crown CDi amplifier, refer to the Crown Operation Manual. For useful information about the relative merits of different wiring plans you may want to refer to the speaker installation manual (available on-line). -

LANDSCAPE CROWN AMPLIFIER INSTALLATION MANUAL Balanced When using the Origin Landscape series in a commercial instal- lation it might be necessary to connect the amplifier using bal- anced wiring. Connect the wires from your source equipment to the Phoenix connector. Be sure to observe proper polarity when connecting the wires to the Phoenix connector. -

Output Connections Terminating the Wires Attach the supplied spade connectors to the ends of your speaker cables. Then attach them to the output screws on the amplifier and replace the supplied plastic cover to prevent a short circuit or shock hazard. CAUTION The amplifier should not be connected to AC power until all connections are completed. - Page 7 LANDSCAPE CROWN AMPLIFIER INSTALLATION MANUAL WHICH PRESET TO USE? The Crown CDi series amplifier you purchased from Origin Acous- tics is preloaded with 20 presets to allow allow you to optimally configure your sound system for practically any circumstance. The presets have been divided into two families -- the Active Crossover family and the Passive Crossover family.
- Page 8 The Passive Crossover family, which is the approach you may be most familiar with, allows satellites and subwoofers to be on a single wire run. • Presets 19 & 20 use the amplifier in bridged mode if only one channel is available. This is anticipated to be used when wire is pre-existing from a previous install.
