9.3 White balance (WHITE BAL)
White balance is used for minimising the effect of different sources of illumination (halogen
lamps, mercury vapour lamps, etc.) on the colour distortion of the camera picture. When you
install the camera, try to use uniform illumination sources. Move the cursor to select WHITE BAL.
You can select different operating modes with the LEFT/RIGHT keys. These are:
AWB (Auto white balance): Colour temperature: 1,000–18,000°K. With AWB, the camera
makes an automatic white balance using the internal colour control.
ATW (special white balance): Colour temperature range: 1,000 – 18,000°K. recommended
mode for white balance. In this mode, the camera makes an automatic
white balance but according to the operator's individual requirements.
PRESET (preset colour temperature): In this mode, the camera sets the video picture to the
selected colour temperature.
MANUAL (manual white balance): In this mode, you can set the colour ratios individually.
PTL (Push To Lock, for setting via the video picture): In this mode, you can define a default white
value via the white balance.
