8.4 Description of back focus and the A-I connector

The back-focus setting changes the distance between the CCD element and the lens..
1.
Before attaching the lens, make sure that the distance between the
CCD element and the lens holder is selected correctly. For C-mount
lenses, increase the distance to the CCD element.
2.
Using the screwdriver supplied, unscrew the fixing screw (1).
3.
Now turn the adjusting wheel (2) to set the distance between the CCD element
and the lens so that the image is in focus. For variofocal lenses, adjust the
back-focus to the two focal extremes.
4.
Following adjustment, tighten the fixing screw.
Note:
If you cannot obtain a clearly focussed image by adjusting the lens, check and adjust the back-
focus setting if necessary.
