7. Install the regulator/rectifier and secure with the
torx-head cap screws and lock nuts; then secure the
ECU to the air silencer with cap screws. Tighten
securely.
8. If the exhaust resonator and expansion chamber
were removed, install and secure with the seven
springs, tab washer, and hairpin clip.
NOTE: On the 600/800/1000 cc, connect the
exhaust temperature sensor connector.
9. Place the hood into position on the front bumper;
then install the two hood pins and hairpin clips.
With the hood secured, install the hood cables to
the chassis.
NOTE: If removed, install the clutch guard.
10. Install the air intake connector to the air silencer
and secure with new cable ties.

11. Install the side panels and secure with the torx-
head cap screws and hairpin clip.
Gas Tank/
Seat Assembly
(Crossfire/M-Series)
REMOVING
1. On the CFR/Crossfire, trip the seat latches inside
the storage compartment and remove the seat.
2. On the M-Series, remove the two lock nuts and
washers from inside the storage compartment
securing the seat to the gas tank/chassis.
3. Remove the console (see the appropriate Console
in this section).
4. Drain the gasoline from the gas tank.
5. Remove the two lock nuts securing the steering
post mounting blocks to the gas tank; then remove
the two lock nuts securing the gas tank to the chas-
sis. Disconnect the fuel hose and the fuel pump
two-wire connector; then remove the gas tank.
INSTALLING
1. Install the gas tank onto the steering post mounting
blocks and the steering support; then secure the gas
tank to the steering support and chassis with the
two lock nuts and tighten to 96 in.-lb.
2. Connect the fuel hose and the fuel pump two-wire
connector; then install the two remaining lock nuts
securing the gas tank to the tunnel.
3. Install the console (see the appropriate Console in
this section).
4. On the CFR/Crossfire, place the seat into position
and secure with the latches inside the storage com-
partment.
5. On the M-Series, place the seat into position over
the studs of the gas tank/chassis; then secure the
seat with two washers and lock nuts.
