Specifying the Paper Type

When you place any special paper other than plain paper or that not used for normal copying, you need to set the
thickness and attribute into this equipment.
If you select a wrong paper type, this could cause a paper misfeed or significant image trouble.
 Copying onto recycled paper or thick paper
When you place recycled paper or thick paper in the drawer, set the thickness and attribute into this equipment. To
learn how to place paper and specify the paper type, refer to the Paper Preparation Guide.
After setting the thickness and attributes for a drawer, set it to feed paper and make copies.

 Copying onto thin paper, sticker labels, or special paper
Thin paper, sticker labels, or special paper can be used to make copies by using the bypass tray.

Place such paper on the bypass tray and set the thickness and attributes into this equipment before you start copying.

Supported paper types for the bypass differ depending on the model. For supported paper types, refer to the
Specifications Guide.
Special papers, such as OHP film or sticker labels, are not applicable on sort modes.
 Specifying and copying cover sheets or paper to insert
Cover sheets or paper to insert a specific page can be prepared and copied in a drawer different from an ordinary
drawer.Place paper in a drawer and set attribute as the paper type. For setting for attribute, refer to the Paper
Preparation Guide.
