Heater shuts off after couple minutes. Won’t stay on
The Pentair heater may shut off after a couple of minutes due to safety or control issues. Possible reasons include:
1. Temperature setting is not above the current water temperature.
2. A diagnostic LED (AGS, AFS, SFS, HLS, PS, or THERMISTOR) may be triggered.
3. Heater control board failure.
4. Ignition Control Module (ICM) malfunction.
5. Insufficient gas flow or pressure.
6. Faulty igniter.
7. Water pressure switch issue.
Proper troubleshooting includes checking diagnostic LEDs, verifying control board operation, measuring igniter voltage, and confirming gas flow.

My pool repair person says my Pentair Master Temp 250 is working properly. The heater does not heat the water above a very low tepid heat, I need to know if this as hot as it gets the water. At this temperature you never feel the pool get any hotter. Is he right? He installed the heater in mid 2018 and I've run the heater less that 15 hours. Is there a factory rep I can talk to about this issue? I would gladly pay for this service. 310-377-2794.
