6.5 CONDENSATE DRAINAGE

The MEC MIX is equipped with a condensate drain,
which a proper pipe shall be connected to.
The condensate drain is placed at the bottom of the
unit and the provided kit (including a siphon) shall be
connected to it, see picture 28 for details. Ensure the
drain pipe is not bent and the condensate can flow
properly by gravity, picture 29. The discharge of the
condensate shall be done in compliance with the local
regulation.

Connection
The pipe used shall be suitable for connection to the
heater, considering that heat, chemicals and vibration
can stress the pipe. Avoid the use of copper or iron (if
not stainless steel) which may rust or deteriorate due
to the aggressive acid contained in the condensate.
Ensure the condensate drain pipe is not protected
against freezing.
Note: the siphon connected to the condensate drain
shall be filled with water before the start-up of the
heater.
This to avoid the exhaust may come out through the
condensate drainage piping.
