Power Package Recommissioning

To prevent possible injury or damage to equipment, do not in-
stall battery until all maintenance has been performed on en-
gine.

Check that all cooling system hoses are connected properly and
hose clamps are tight.
When installing battery, be sure to connect NEGATIVE (–) bat-
tery cable to NEGATIVE (–) battery terminal and POSITIVE (+)
battery cable to POSITIVE (+) battery terminal. If battery cables
are reversed, electrical system damage will result.

Install fully-charged battery. Clean battery cable clamps and
terminals and reconnect cables (see CAUTION listed above).
Tighten each cable clamp securely when connecting.

Coat terminal connections with a battery terminal anti-corrosion
agent.

Perform all checks in OPERATION CHART in the BEFORE
STARTING column.
Refer to FLUSHING COOLING SYSTEM before starting en-
gine.

Start engine and closely observe instrumentation to make sure
that all systems are functioning correctly.

Carefully inspect engine for fuel, oil, fluid, water and exhaust
leaks.

Check steering system, shift and throttle control for proper
operation.

Check fuel pump sight tube (if so equipped) for evidence of fuel
(indicating a ruptured fuel pump diaphragm).
