1 Preparing and using for the first time First-time use When using the machine for the first time, you can choose whether you want to operate IMPRESSA with or without the CLARIS filter cartridge Blue. If the water hardness is 10° dH or more, we recom- mend using the filter cartridge.

2 Preparation Ground coffee You can choose a second coffee variety, for example decaffeinated coffee, with the filler funnel for ground coffee. E Never add more than two level measuring spoons of ground coffee. E Use ground coffee which is not ground too finely. Very fine coffee can block up the system so that the coffee only comes out in drips.
