Stylistic ST4000 Tablet PC Features
This chapter provides an introduction to the Stylistic ST4000 Tablet PC and ST4000P Tablet PC system hardware
and software and gives an overview of some of the tablet PC's features. Detailed specifications on the features
discussed in this chapter are given in other chapters of this guide.
The Stylistic ST4000 computer series is designed for the Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, Windows 2000
Professional, and Windows XP Professional operating systems (depending upon core configuration, as detailed
below).
The system is available in two core configurations:
• Stylistic ST4000 Tablet PC
The Stylistic ST4000 Tablet PC uses an active digitizer. The ST4000 Tablet PC conforms to the Windows Tablet PC
standards.
• Stylistic ST4000P Tablet PC
The Stylistic ST4000P Tablet PC uses a passive digitizer.

Details about both core systems are provided in this document, and differences are noted where
applicable. When features common to both configurations are discussed within this document, the
systems are referred to collectively as "Stylistic ST4000". When distinctions are made between the two
configurations, systems with the active digitizer are referred to as "Stylistic ST4000", while systems with
the passive digitizer are referred to as "Stylistic ST4000P".
The Stylistic ST4000 Tablet PC system has been tested by Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) at Microsoft
Corporation and is compliant with PC2001 system design guidelines.
Hardware Features
PC Card Support
The Stylistic ST4000 Tablet PC is equipped with a PC Card slot that allows you to install a Type I or II PC Card. The
PC Card slot is compliant with PC CardBus Standard Release 3.0 and provides support for the following PC Card
features:
• Multivoltage 3.3/5 V PC Cards (detected automatically)
• CardBus (PCI bridge) type PC Cards
• Supports PCIC (PC Card I/O Card) protocol
• Backward compatibility with previous PC Card Standard Release level PC Cards
Internal LAN/Modem
The Stylistic ST4000 Tablet PCs are equipped with an internal LAN/56 Kbps* modem. (Note: The 56 Kbps rate is
nominal; due to FCC restrictions, actual rates are limited to 53 Kbps.)
