The Integrated Routing System Manual Line-up

Overview

The IXS-6600/6700 Integrated Routing System handles
AES/EBU digital audio signals, digital video (SD and HD)
signals, and time code signals as well as data (RS-422A
signals).
By mounting various optional boards in the IXS-6600/
6700 enclosure model, you can configure it to handle a
wide array of signals.
For details, see "IXS-6600/6700 System Products" on
page 46.
Actual signal switching can be controlled, using an
external control unit, such as the optional BKS-R1617/
R1618/R3216/R3219/R3220 Routing Switcher Control
Unit.
For details, see "Control System of the IXS-6600/6700
Integrated Routing System" on page 51.
Some of signal-switching operations can be controlled
from a PC if the BZR-21 Routing Switcher Remote
Control Software (supplied) is installed on the PC
connected with the IXS-6600/6700, using Ethernet or RS-
232C.
For details, see "Supplied Software" on page 68.
To operate this system, various settings (table data creation
and system settings) must be made beforehand, using
terminal emulator software on the PC.
For details, refer to the System Setup Manual (supplied).
Notes
• For the HDTV SDI signal line, use the HD/SD-type
optional boards from input through output, as shown
below:
Processor board: IKS-V6050M
Input board: IKS-V6010M
Output board: IKS-V6060M
• For example, even if the HD/SD Digital Video Output
Board is used for output, when a processor board
dedicated to the SDTV SDI signals (SD Video Router
Processor) is used for processing, HDTV SDI signals are
not output.
• When the RS-422 boards are to be mounted, the slot
number for the IKS-RS6010 Input Board and that for the
IKS-RS6060 Output Board must be identical, as they are
handled as a pair. For example, if the input board is
installed in Slot 3 for input boards, the output board must
be also installed in Slot 3 for output boards.
• The 540 Mbps SDTV SDI signal is not handled by the
SD Digital Video Board. Only a digital video board that
can handle HD/SD signals can support this signal.
