Overview

The HP 5830 Switch Series includes the models in

IMPORTANT:
For regulatory identification purposes, the switches are assigned RMN. These regulatory numbers
should not be confused with the marketing name HP 5830AF, or the product numbers JC691A,
JG316A, JC694A, and JG374A.

Turn off all the power and remove all the power cables before opening the chassis.

Unplug all power and external cables before moving the chassis.

Locate the emergency power off switch before installation and shut off power immediately if

necessary.
Always wear an ESD wrist strap when installing the device.

Do not stare into the open optical interface; the high power density light can burn the retina.
•
Use a good grounding system to protect your device against lightning shocks, interferences, and
•
ESD; this is essential to the operating reliability of your switch.
Make sure the resistance between the chassis and the ground is less than 1 ohm.
