  • Page 3 PLEASE NOTE This appliance is to be used only with the type of gas for which it has been supplied. Never attempt to use the appliance with other gas types. Always use a fireguard complying with BS6539 or BS6778 for the protection of young children, the elderly or infirm. The hearth in front of the fire should be of a non-combustible material.

    OPERATION OF THE FIRE 1. This fire is controlled by a 4 position gas tap mounted on the front leg of the appliance (see Fig 1). In addition to the OFF position there is a pilot light and 2 heat control settings.

    CLEANING Note: Before attempting any of the following ensure that the fire has been allowed to cool completely. Note: Some discoloration of the coals is normal. The metal parts of the fire should be carefully cleaned with a damp cloth and then polished with a dry cloth. On no account should any metal polish or similar be used as this may prove harmful to the surface.

    REFITTING COALS Place the front base coal in the burner compartment so that it rests on the ledges at the sides and front. Pull the coal forward so that it is immediately behind the front rim of the burner compartment (Figure 2).

    Place the two remaining small coals alongside the main coals. (Figure 6).
