Such a guard is also recommended for the protection of pet animals. (Although this fire conforms to all the applicable standards, it is a heating appliance and certain parts of its surface will become hot.).

    OWNER’S GUIDE O P E R A T I N G Y O U R F I R E PLEASE NOTE When operating your fire for the first time, some vapours may be given off which may cause a slight odour and could possibly set off any smoke alarms in the immediate vicinity.

    OWNER’S GUIDE 4. For a higher heat level slide the button upwards. The burner flames and heat output will gradually increase until the button reaches the high heat position shown in figure 2. When the button reaches the high heat position you will feel a check to its movement. Do not slide the button above the high heat position unless you want to turn the fire off (See note i below).

    OWNER’S GUIDE F U E L B E D R E F I T T I N G If the fuel bed components are dislodged or removed, they must be refitted as follows: Only the fuel bed parts supplied with this appliance or authorised replacements must be used.

    OWNER’S GUIDE Place 3 of the medium size coals behind and approximately midway between the large coals as shown in figure 7. Place a “finger” coal at each end of the first two rows of coals. See figure 7. Place the four remaining coals in a row at the back of the firebox compartment.
