1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 86.
3. Remove the front bezel. See "Replacing the front bezel" on page 93.
4. Locate the computer handle. See "Computer components" on page 32.
5. Remove the three screws that secure the computer handle, and then remove the computer handle
from the chassis.

6. Align the three holes in the new computer handle with the corresponding screw holes in the chassis.
Then, install the three screws to secure the computer handle.
7. Reinstall the front bezel. See "Replacing the front bezel" on page 93.

Replacing the optical drive or front-access storage enclosure

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1.
To replace the front-access storage enclosure, follow the steps of replacing the optical drive. To replace the
optical drive, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 86.
3. Remove the front bezel. See "Replacing the front bezel" on page 93.
4. Locate the optical drive. See "Computer components" on page 32.
5. Disconnect the signal cable and the power cable from the rear of the optical drive.
