    Warnings Warnings The following warnings are for the setup, use, grounding, maintenance, and repair of this equipment. The exclamation point symbol alerts you to a general warning and the hazard symbols refer to procedure-specific risks. When these symbols appear in the body of this manual or on warning labels, refer back to these Warnings.
  • Page 5 All parts of the spray system, including the pump, hose assembly, spray gun, and objects in and around the spray area shall be properly grounded to protect against static discharge and sparks. Use Graco conductive or grounded high-pressure airless paint sprayer hoses.

    Warnings Internal Combustion Engine Warnings FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD Flammable fumes, such as solvent and paint fumes, in work area can ignite or explode. To help prevent fire and explosion: • Use equipment only in well ventilated area. • Do not fill fuel tank while engine is running or hot; shut off engine and let it cool. Fuel is flammable and can ignite or explode if spilled on hot surface.
  • Page 7 Check hoses and parts for signs of damage. Replace any damaged hoses or parts. • This system is capable of producing 3300 psi (22.8 MPa, 228 bar). Use Graco replacement parts or accessories that are rated a minimum of 3300 psi (22.8 MPa, 228 bar).
  • Page 8 Do not kink or over-bend the hose. • Do not expose the hose to temperatures or to pressures in excess of those specified by Graco. • Do not use the hose as a strength member to pull or lift the equipment.

    Grounding Grounding Grounding Procedure for Grounding Procedure for Internal Combustion Electric Motor Engine The equipment must be grounded to reduce the risk of static sparking and The equipment must be grounded to electric shock.     Setup Complete Setup All sprayers except ProContractor: Connect appropriate Graco high-pressure hose to sprayer. ti9126a ti8714a When spraying texture, remove inlet strainer and filter bowl screen.   • Page 17 Check engine oil level. Diesel Engine Gasoline Engine Diesel Engine ti28388a 10. Check hydraulic oil level. Add Graco Hydraulic Oil, ISO Grade 46, 169236 (5 gallon/18.9 liter) or 207428 (1 gal- lon/3.8 liter). Hydraulic tank capacity is 1.25 gallon (4.75 liters).

    Startup Startup If using electric motor, plug cord into outlet and turn switch to ON. Place suction tube and drain tube in grounded metal pail partially filled with ti4296b flushing fluid. Attach ground wire to pail If using gasoline engine, start engine. and to earth ground.

Move throttle lever to MIN position. ti5263a After engine starts, move choke to open. ti28399a Grip the starter rope handle. Gently ti5264a pull the rope until it is extended to the full length revealing the RED indicator mark on the rope.

    Startup Switch Tip ™ and Guard Assembly High-pressure spray is able to inject toxins into the body and cause serious bodily injury. Do not stop leaks with hand or rag. 11. Inspect for leaks. If leaks occur, turn Perform Pressure Relief Procedure, sprayer OFF immediately.

    Clean Up Clean Up Turn engine ON and start engine or plug motor in and turn ON. Move throt- tle to MAX on internal combustion engine. Turn hydraulic pump valve ON. Turn prime valve to SPRAY position. Perform Pressure Relief Procedure, page 13, steps 1-7.
  • Page 25 Clean Up FLUSH ti8692a ti15018a While continuing to trigger gun, turn 10. Depending on model, either remove nut prime valve down. Then release gun and inlet strainer screen from bottom of trigger. Allow flushing fluid to circulate suction tube, or unscrew and remove until fluid comes out of drain tube clear.

    DAILY: Check level of Throat Seal Liquid YEARLY OR 2000 HOURS: Replace (TSL) in displacement pump packing nut. Fill hydraulic oil and filter with Graco hydraulic oil nut, if necessary. Keep TSL in nut to help 169236 (5 gallon/20 liter) or 207428 (1 prevent fluid buildup on piston rod and gallon/3.8 liter) and filter 116909.

Remove suction tube and paint hose NOTICE (remove at swivel end). If pump jam nut loosens during operation, the threads of the bearing housing and drive train will be damaged.
