Some issues must be resolved on some systems to enable this feature. RedHat When the IBM Director is installed on RedHat systems, it is necessary to modify some settings to successfully launch SMclient.

Running IBM Director 5.20.1 instead of 5.20.2 Archive Systems Management Interface recommends running IBM Director 5.20.2; however, if IBM Director 5.20.1 must be utilized instead of the recommended version 5.20.2, the following changes must be made. These changes enable support for the IBM 1814 FAStT system.

Note: In the event that IBM Director must be reset (not just restarted), this change must be done again. To support this, the copy can be used to restore the file quickly following the reset and before discovering the storage systems.
