Varying settings over a series of photographs (bracketing)
"Bracketing" refers to the act of varying settings automatically over a series of shots or
a series of images to "bracket" the current value. Bracketing is available in P, A, S,
and M modes.

Select [Bracketing] in shooting menu X.

Choose a bracketing type.
• Bracketing is available after pressing the jY button
(G) in the monitor and selecting [BKT].
AE BKT (AE bracketing)
The camera varies exposure by 0.3 EV, 0.7 EV, or 1.0 EV
over three shots. The camera continues to take shots in the
following order while the shutter button is pressed all the way
down: no modifi cation, negative, positive. Number of shots: 2
or 3
• The camera modifi es exposure by varying aperture and shutter speed (mode P), shutter
speed (modes A and M), or aperture (mode S).
• The camera brackets the value currently selected for exposure compensation.
WB BKT (WB bracketing)
Three images with different white balances (adjusted in
specifi ed color directions) are automatically created from
one shot, starting with the value currently selected for white
balance.
• White balance can be varied by 2, 4, or 6 steps on each of the A – B (Amber – Blue) and
G – M (Green – Magenta) axes.
• The camera brackets the value currently selected for white balance compensation.
• No pictures will be taken during WB bracketing if there is not enough memory on the card
for the selected number of frames.
