Appendix D
Dimming Instructions
In this configuration, while there is an Analog Input device connected to the TB6 terminal on the IO Board, based on the actual value
received from this device (in the range of 0 to 4095), an Analog Output device connected to the TB5 terminal on the IO Board, can be
controlled in such a way that a constant Analog Output can be maintained.
The Analog Output desired level can be set as follows:
Analog Output Desired Level Settings
Register
Function
8212
Desired Level Setting for Analog Output
8213
Desired Level Setting for Analog Output
However to be able to use this feature the following registers need to be set:
Analog Output Feed Settings for Step Dimming
Register
Function
32
Analog Output 1 Feed
33
Analog Output 2 Feed
Typical Example Scenario:
• Connect an Analog Light Sensor to the TB6 terminal (Analog Input 1 or Analog Input 2). Typically in this
scenario the sensor will be pointing to the inside light level.
• Connect a Dimming Ballast to the TB5 terminal (Analog Output 1)
• Set the Analog Output Feed Settings as follows
- Register 32 value as 43 (if the dimming ballasts are connected to Analog Output 1)
- Register 33 value as 43 also (if the dimming ballasts are connected to Analog Output 1)
NOTE: In this way, two Analog Outputs can be regulated by the same Analog Input.-
• Set the Analog Output Desired Level Settings as follows
Analog Output Desired Level Settings
Register
Function
8212
Desired Level Setting for Analog Output 1
8213
Desired Level Setting for Analog Output 2
The Active Dimming capability will keep the increase or decrease the Output Voltage in an attempt to match the Desired Set Value
to the Analog Input value it is reading. However, in no case will it go below 0 (0 volts) or above 4095 (10 volts +-10%).
In the example above, the value of 2048 means the system will attempt to output enough voltage to keep the Input reading at
2048 (5 volts).
