E) DUST SENSOR (MC-E593 only)
The dust sensor indicator automatically informs you of the cleaning conditions.
When dust is present in the air being vacuumed the red indicator lights and
remains lit until the air is free of dust. The Red light then goes off
indicating the area is free of dust.
The dust sensor may not operate correctly if the airflow is restricted due
to a blockage or dust build-up on the sensors.
• Check the suction pipe inlet and hose for any blockage and
remove the obstruction.
• If after removing any blockage or obstruction the dust sensor does not
work, take the vacuum cleaner to the Service Centre.
NOTE: The dust sensor indicator may light up when
there is no dust present.
This can occur when the cleaner is used in areas
where there is a strong electromagnetic field, for
example if your house is situated near a TV
transmitter or radio transmitter.
This is not a malfunction of the vacuum cleaner.
F) FOOT PEDAL BODY ADJUSTMENT / AUTOMATIC BEATER BAR ON / OFF
To lower the body of the cleaner, step on the foot release pedal 1 on the bottom left corner of the vacuum
cleaner. Once the body is reclined, press the beater bar pedal 2 in the "ON" position and the beater bar
will start to rotate.
If you wish to stop the beater bar simply return the cleaner into the upright position. In case you want to
stop the beater bar whilst the cleaner is in the reclined position, press the beater bar pedal in the "OFF"
position.

NOTE: In this position the beater
bar does not rotate.
IMPORTANT: The beater bar motor is attached to a cut out
device that turns off the beater bar power if it becomes
clogged. If this occurs, DISCONNECT the cleaner from the
electricity supply, remove the blockage and press the reset
button, located just below the beater bar pedal, to restore
the operation of beater bar.

2. Middle position /normal use
For normal cleaning, depress the
foot pedal and pull back the
handle to a comfortable angle.

RED light on: Dust is present
RED light off: Clean air
3. Low position
For cleaning under furniture,
depress the pedal a second time
and lower the handle down to the
floor as shown.
