SINUS/SINE INVERTER – CSI-/SSI-SERIES
®
Inverter mode:
If the inverter mode is activated, the batteries will not be charged despite available
shore power . If the inverter is switched off, the batteries will be charged by the charger
in case of available shore power .
UPS mode:
T0-T1: (bypass mode)
If the system is started and shore power is available, the bypass mode starts automati-
cally, the inverter mode is deactivated and all devices are supplied with shore power . As
long as the battery voltage is >11 V*, the integrated charger remains deactivated in this
phase . Everything is charged by solar power .
T1-T5: (charging with solar power)
The solar power charges the batteries with a IUoU charging characteristic (max .
14,4 V*) and remains afterwards at a maintenance-charge voltage of 13,8 V* .
T5-T6: (UPS function/inverter function)
If the shore power connection is disconnected and no solar power is available the
device switches automatically from bypass mode into inverter mode . Due to the
disconnection of solar and shore power the batteries are used for power supply and
discharged until max . 11 V* .
T6-T9: (Charging with charger)
As soon as shore power is available, the device switches immediately to bypass mode
and the batteries are charged by the integrated charger . If there is no solar power availa-
ble but shore power, the batteries will be charged to a 100% .
T9-T11: (deep discharge of batteries in emergencies)
If the shore power connection is disconnected a second time and there is no solar
power available (at night for example) and the device switches into inverter mode, the
batteries are discharged to 10,5 V* and then disconnected .
T10-T11: (simultaneous charging after emergency)
If the situation described above has occurred (discharging to 10,5 V*) the batteries are
charged via solar and shore power (for example in daylight) to prevent a battery damage
as soon as possible, until a voltage of 13 V* is reached . Afterwards the batteries are
charged with solar power only .
* for 12 V batteries, (for 24 V batteries: double the value, for 48 V batteries: fourfold value)
