Troubleshooting

Problem
Generator will not start
Generator will not start or it
starts but runs roughly
Generator starts but then
immediately shuts off
Generator isn't supplying
enough power or the
generator is overheating

Generator has no AC output
DG65M-R62
Cause
Fuel tank is empty
Defective or dirty spark plug
An electrical device is plugged
into the generator
Oil level is too low
Choke isn't in proper position
Spark plug has loose wire
Fuel tank is too low or empty
Oil level is too low
Generator is overloaded
Cooling holes are blocked
Cable isn't properly connected
Solution
Refill gasoline to proper level
Replace spark plug
Unplug device and restart generator
Refill oil to the proper level
Place generator on a flat, level surface
Adjust choke
Tighten wire connecting spark plug
Refill gasoline to proper level
Refill oil to the proper level
Place generator on a flat, level surface
Confirm electrical device plugged into
your generator is single-phase 60 Hz.
Confirm total requirements of all devices
plugged into your generator do not
exceed the power limit of your generator.
Refer to "Stay within your generator's
power limit" section of manual (page 23).
Check the cooling holes on the side
panel and bottom of the generator. Clear
away any mud, water, paper or other
debris.
Reattach all connections
