Charging and maintenance
of the drive battery
The pedelec runs on a 36.3V 10Ah (363Wh) SAM-
SUNG SDI lithium-ion battery. The battery con-
tains an electronic protection circuit that prevents
excessive discharging and overcharging.
Avoid storing a fully discharged battery
for weeks.

Sleep Mode

To save energy, the battery automatically switch-
es into Sleep Mode when the pedelec is not in
use. To revert back to normal operating mode,
press the button on the battery's charge status
display.
The original charger operates using CC-CV4
technology. In conjunction with the battery's
electronic protection system, the possibility of
any damage occurring to the battery at any time
can therefore be ruled out as can any possibil-
ity of overcharging through an incorrect charg-
ing current. The charger is for indoor use only!
Please read the charger manual attached prior to
initial use.
Remove the battery charger from the box, un-
wind the cable bundle and plug it into the multi-
pin charging socket located on the side of the
drive battery. A cover protects against splash
water. Open the cover (protective cap) by sliding
sideways.

Note: The drive battery can
also be charged while on the
pedelec!
Connect the charger to the battery.
The LED on the charger will change from green
1
to red. The charging starts. If the battery pack
is nearly full (90%), the LED change from red to
flashing green. The first charging phase (CC =
Constant Current) is completed. It starts the CV
phase (constant voltage).
Fully charging the battery can take up to 6 hours.
CC-CV charging effectively means that 90 % of
the charging is completed after approximately 4
hours. A further 2 hours charging time are still re-
quired in CV-mode for the remaining 10 % ca-
pacity (with the existing 2A battery charger).
The battery can also be charged while
mounted on the bicycle.
The LED changes to a steady green light once
the charging process is complete. Although the
battery pack can be removed from the charger at
any time, it is recommended to charge the bat-
tery fully on every 10th occasion.
Danger of short circuit!
Ensure that no metallic objects come close to
the battery contacts and the charging plug.
CC-CV = Constant Current – Constant Voltage: Controlled
1
current strength is first used to charge quickly and the
battery voltage increases. On approaching the maximum
capacity, the current strength is reduced and the remaining
capacity is filled only with exact maximum specified
voltage.
