is maintained.
Prepare your croques while the appliance heats up.
To reduce the risk of sticking and to improve the appearance and taste of your
croques, you can oil the plates lightly with (sunflower) oil or rub your croques
lightly with butter or margarine.
Use oven gloves.
Put your four croques on the lower plate and close the lid carefully. You can
position your croques with a wooden or plastic spatula. Do not use force to close
the lid and take care with hot surfaces.
Let your croque bake for 4 to 5 minutes. This is a good average. Adjust the time
to your choice.
Open the lid carefully (oven gloves!) and remove the croques with a non-metallic
spatula. Metal objects can damage the non-stick coating.
Before biting: be careful with hot dishes, the cheese can become very hot.
Do not overfill the appliance. The excess will drain down along the sides and
possibly burn.

Unplug the appliance and let your Family Croque cool completely before you
begin any maintenance or cleaning.
Do not immerse the appliance the plug or cord in water or any other liquid.

Wipe the plates clean with absorbent paper or a soft damp cloth.
After removing the plates you can wash them in hot soapy water. Wipe dry with a
soft cloth.
To prevent oxidation on the back of the plates it is recommended that you put
them back into place in the appliance and then heat them for 1 minute with the lid
closed.
You may clean the plates in the dishwasher.
Place them in the top rack and set your dishwasher to wash, rinse and dry.
Clean the outside of your Family Croque with a damp cloth.
The metal casing can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.
TIPS & RECIPE
A simple tasty croque can be made with cheese and ham between two slices of bread.
Through the high moisture content of oven fresh bread it will not brown to a really
nice colour.
You can use many different types of bread. Remember that dark or whole grain bread
absorbs more moisture and therefore require a little more oil or fat (sunflower oil,
butter, margarine.
With young or mature cheese and a slice of ham you will make a delicious croques.
Fill up with lettuce, gherkins and tomato ketchup. If desired, you can vary with
different types of cheese or ham. Adding a piece of pineapple or a fried egg creates a
Croque Hawaii or a Croque Madam.
