Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below to find possible solutions to some problems you may experience
with your refrigerator.
Possible Cause
Doors are opened often or for
long periods of time.
Doors not closed correctly.
Weather is humid.
Defrost cycle was recently
completed.
Food is not packaged
correctly.
When the doors are frequently opened and left open for
long periods of time, warm, humid air enters. This raises the
temperature and moisture level and creates buildup.
Reduce the frequency and duration of door openings to
solve interior moisture buildup.
See the Doors are Not Closing Correctly table in the
Troubleshooting section (page 39).
Humid weather allows additional moisture to enter the
refrigerator and freezer when the doors are opened. This
moisture creates condensation or frost.
Maintain a reasonable level of humidity in the home to help
control the amount of moisture that will enter the unit.
During the defrost cycle, the temperature of each
compartment may raise slightly and condensation may form
on the back wall.
Wait 30 minutes and confirm that the proper temperature
has been restored once the defrost cycle has completed.
Food stored uncovered and unwrapped, and food in damp
containers, can lead to moisture accumulation within each
compartment.
Wipe all containers dry. Store food in sealed packaging to
prevent condensation and frost.
