CONNECTION AND PREPARATION

Connecting the antennas

The wire antenna provides adequate reception of local FM (VHF) regional stations. Do not
shorten the wire antenna. A frame antenna is available for the reception of MW (medium
wave) stations.

Inserting back-up batteries
In mains operation, the back-up batteries ensure the current time is retained if there is a
power failure or the device is briefly disconnected from the mains. The alarm time and alarm
function are not saved.

Plug the wire frame antenna into the
position of the wire frame antenna until you get the best reception.
Plug the loudspeaker cables into the
the hi-fi system.
Connect the cables marked in red to the red terminal.
Insert the headphone plug (ø 3.5 mm) into the »0« socket on the left side of the hi-fi.
– The loudspeakers of the hi-fi system are switched off.
Note:
Check that the mains voltage on the type plate (on the bottom of the hi-fi system) corre-
sponds to your local mains supply.
The only way to disconnect the hi-fi system from the mains supply is to pull the plug.
Plug the power cord into the wall socket.
Open the backup battery compartment on the bottom of the hi-fi system by pressing the
catch and removing the lid.
When inserting the batteries (2 x 1.5 V, type IEC R3/UM4/AAA), observe the polarity
marked on the base of the battery compartment.
Note:
After a power cut the time on the display of the hi-fi flashes. The alarm time and alarm
type must then be reset.
