Troubleshooting

Check the following guide for the possible cause of a problem before contacting service. Refer also to the respective
instruction manuals of the connected components and TV.
DVD Player
Symptoms
Causes
The DVD Player doesn't
• The power cord is disconnected.

Remedies
• Check the connection of the power cord.
• Turn on the main power.
• Switch off the main power, then switch it on
again. If not recovered, disconnect the power
cord, then connect it again.
• Contact your nearest Onkyo service center.
• Open the disc tray and insert a disc.
• See Regional Restriction Codes (Region
Number) on the rear panel.
• Check the playable discs.
• Place the disc with the playback side down.
• Place the disc within the proper guide on the disc
tray.
• Eject the disc and clean it.
• Deactivate the parental lock function or change
the parental lock level.
• Connect the DVD Player directly to the TV.
Avoid connecting the DVD Player to the TV
through a VCR.
• Press PROGRESSIVE to restore the Interlace
mode.
• Select the PAL or NTSC format in the setting
menu under Preferences and play a disc
compatible with the format set for the DV-SP302.
• Eject the disc and clean it.
• Sometimes a small amount of picture distortion
may appear. This is not a malfunction.
• See "Notes on Discs."
• Resume normal playback.
• Set the TV to the DVD Player's input.
• Check the connections to the DVD Player.
• Press the PROGRESSIVE button to switch to the
interlace mode, or connect the TV that supports
the progressive format using the COMPONENT
terminals.
• Check the current sound signal conversion
method, and select the right setting for
"DIGITAL OUT."
• Set the TV to the DVD Player's input.
• Check the connections to the DVD Player.
• Resume nomal playback.
• See "Notes on Discs."
• Switch off the main power, then switch it on
again. If not recovered, disconnect the power
cord, then connect it again.
