13. When the front-to-rear blade slope is correct,
tighten the jam nuts (Figure 43 and Figure 45).
14. Recheck the side-to-side level of the mower;
refer to Leveling the Mower from Side-to-Side.
15. Check the height of the anti-scalp rollers; refer
to Adjusting the Anti-Scalp Rollers.

Removing the Mower

1. Park the machine on a level surface.
2. Disengage the blade control switch and move
the control levers to the neutral locked position
and apply the parking brake.
3. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for
all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
4. Lower the height-of-cut lever to the lowest
position.
5. Remove the hairpin cotter and clevis pin from
the front trunion yokes (Figure 46).

6. Remove the hairpin cotter and clevis pin from
the rear trunion rod (Figure 47) on each side
of the mower.
7. Remove the hairpin cotter and washer at
the mower leveling brackets (Figure 47) on
each side of the mower. Note which hole
the leveling bracket is mounted in for future
installation. Slide the brackets off of the
mounting pin.

8. Slide the mower rearward to remove the
mower belt from the engine pulley.
9. Slide the mower out from underneath the
tractor.
Note: Retain all parts for future installation.

Inspecting the Belts

Inspect all belts every 100 hours.
Check the belts for cracks, frayed edges, burn
marks, or any other damage. Replace damaged
belts.
Squealing when the belt is rotating, blades slipping
when cutting grass, frayed belt edges, burn marks,
and cracks are signs of a worn mower belt. Replace
the mower belt if any of these conditions are
evident.

Replacing the Mower Belt

1. Stop the engine, set the parking brake, remove
the key, and disconnect the spark plug wire(s)
from the spark plug(s).
2. Set the height-of-cut at 1-1/2 inch (38 mm).
3. Remove the belt covers over the outside
spindles.
4. Pull the idler pulley in the direction shown in
Figure 48 and roll the belt off of the pulleys.
Note: Do not remove the spring.
