1. Install a grease gun here.
2. Gently apply one to 2 pumps of #2 multipurpose
lithium-based grease.

Engine Maintenance

Servicing the Air Filter

Service Interval: Before each use or daily
Every 25 hours—Clean the foam
pre-filter.
Every 300 hours—Replace the paper
filter (more frequently in dusty
conditions).
Important: Do not operate the engine without the
air filter assembly; extreme engine damage will
occur.
1. Wipe away all dirt and debris from around the air
filter cover and base (Figure 22).

2. Twist the cover counterclockwise and remove it.
3. Remove the paper filter with the foam pre-filter;
refer to Figure 22.
4. Remove the foam pre-filter from around the paper
filter; discard the paper filter.
Important: Do not try to clean a paper filter.
5. Carefully wipe away any dirt or debris from the
inside of both the cover and the base.
Important: Do not allow dirt or debris to enter
the engine.
6. Wash the foam pre-filter with a mild detergent and
water, then blot it dry.
7. Saturate the foam pre-filter with clean engine oil,
then gently squeeze it (do not twist it) to remove
the excess oil.
