DANGER
If the blade-brake clutch system is not working,
the blade will continue to rotate when you release
the blade-control bar. You could come into contact
with blade, causing serious injury.
• Ensure that the blade brake clutch works
properly before each use.
• Never use a machine equipped with a
blade-brake clutch that has an inoperative
safety system.
• If the safety system on your machine does
not operate properly, take it to an Authorized
Service Dealer for repair.
Adjusting the Cutting Height
The front wheels are adjusted individually with a
cutting-height lever (Figure 16). The rear wheels are
adjusted together with a cutting-height lever located
above the left rear wheel (Figure 17).
Cutting heights are 25 mm (1 inch), 38 mm
(1-1/2 inches), 51 mm (2 inches), 64 mm (2-1/2 inches),
76 mm (3 inches), and 89 mm (3-1/2 inches), and 102
mm (4 inches).
Note: Adjust all the wheels to the same cutting height
setting.
DANGER
Adjusting the cutting-height levers could bring
your hands into contact with a moving blade and
result in serious injury.
• Stop the engine and wait for all movement to
stop before adjusting the cutting height.
• Do not put your fingers under the housing
when adjusting the cutting height.
Adjusting the Front Cutting Height
1. Pull each of the cutting-height levers toward the
wheel (Figure 16) and move it to the desired setting.
1. Cutting-height lever (at the highest setting)
2. Cutting-height lever (at the lowest setting)
2. Release the cutting-height lever and seat it securely
in the notch.
Adjusting the Rear Cutting Height
1. Pull the rear cutting-height lever out and move it to
the desired setting (Figure 17).

2. Release the lever and seat it securely in the desired
