Maintenance

NOTICE:Maintenance, replacement or repair of the
emission control devices and systems may be
performed by any non-road engine repair
establishment or individual. However, to obtain no
charge repairs under the terms and provisions of the
Toro warranty statement, any service or emission
control part repair or replacement must be performed
by an Authorized Toro Service Dealer.

Air Filter

Maintenance Interval
The air filter should be cleaned daily, or more often
when working in extremely dusty conditions.
Replace after every 100 hours of operation.
Air Filter Cleaning
Model 53010 & 53011
1. Unsnap the air filter cover (Fig. 23).
2. Remove the foam filter (Fig. 23).
3. Clean the filter with warm, soapy water. Let the filter
completely dry.
4. Apply a light coat of SAE 30 motor oil to the foam
filter and squeeze out all excess oil.
5. Reassemble the filter and filter cover (Fig. 23).

Model 53002 & 53003
1. Loosen the knob and remove the air filter cover
(Fig. 24).
2. Remove the foam ring and filter screen from the air
filter cover (Fig. 24).
3. Clean the foam ring and filter screen with warm, soapy
water. Let the screen and ring dry completely.
4. Apply a light coat of SAE 30 motor oil to the foam
ring and squeeze out all excess oil.
5. Reassemble the filter screen and foam ring to the air
filter cover (Fig. 24).
